Nation of Cherut Celebrates Legacy, Leadership, and Unity at 125th National Black Business Conference
ATLANTA, GA — August 24, 2025 —
The Nation of Cherut marked a historic chapter in its journey toward Black economic sovereignty at the 125th National Black Business Conference, hosted by the National Alliance for Black Business (NABB) and prominently led by Dr. Ken Harris, President and CEO of the National Business League. The event brought together thousands of delegates committed to advancing Black-owned businesses and economic empowerment across the diaspora.
Throughout the conference, a central theme of unity without ego was passionately embodied by Dr. Ken Harris and co-host Dr. Boyce Watkins, founder of The Black Business School and a renowned thought leader. Both leaders emphasized that true progress comes from collaboration and collective action, spiritedly calling themselves and attendees “Negroes with no egos,” united in their shared mission to support and uplift Black businesses.
Opening receptions and the Pan-African Day Luncheon brought together national and international leaders, fostering cross-cultural dialogue and strategic partnerships. The Birth of a New Nation Summit & Empowerment Series, co-hosted by the Nation of Cherut and The Ishola Empire, amplified this momentum, featuring dynamic sessions backed by the powerful leadership of Dr. Watkins.

The prestigious Booker T. Washington Black Tie Gala provided a grand closing to the conference, celebrating 125 years of Black enterprise and leadership with national delegates prominently recognized. The Gala’s keynote was delivered by Kenneth B. Morris Jr., the great-great-great-grandson of Frederick Douglass and great-great-grandson of Booker T. Washington. Morris shared the inspiring story of how his grandparents, descendants of these two legendary figures, met at Tuskegee Institute, unknowingly blending their mighty legacies in a powerful union that continues to motivate today’s leaders.
Dr. Ken Harris stated, “Our strength lies in humility and unity — the time for ego is past. We must come together as one body to build and sustain Black businesses for future generations.”
Dr. Boyce Watkins added, “The future of Black economic power depends on breaking down barriers between us and working collectively. This conference is a blueprint for a stronger, self-reliant Black economy.”
With over 3,300 attendees from across 33 Pan-African countries, the event underscored a global commitment to economic sovereignty, entrepreneurship, and partnership.
